Elder Deacon Training and Women’s Conference

Elder Deacon Training

We are committed to helping local churches equip their leaders to serve. One of the major ways we do this is through our Elder and Deacon training seminars. Through sound exposition of Scripture, Dr. Mark Ross engages and challenges all participants to grow in their care and leadership of God’s people.

It is a great calling to serve a local church as an Elder or Deacon. Therefore, it is essential to have proper training available. Whether you are an active church officer, believe that you may be called to ministry, or only want to learn more about what good church leadership is, then we encourage you to participate in this event.

We will be attending the training that will be held at Church of the Atonement in Silver Spring, MD. The date of the training is Saturday, April 28. See below for the schedule. Click here for the event website. If you would like to attend, contact Pastor Wittke.

Women’s Conference

“You Are a Woman, You Are a Christian, You Are Invited!”
The Second in a Seminar Series Offered by ARP Women’s Ministries
Speaker:  Elizabeth Burns, ARPWM Coordinator
ALL Women are invited and encouraged to attend!
Details to follow.
ARP Women’s Ministries began this series last spring with the purpose of re-examining the nature of women’s ministries and equipping women to pursue effective ministry in their local church.  It is designed for all women–not just those in leadership positions.  At the same time and place, ARP Christian Education Ministries will be offering their Elder/Deacon Training Seminar, so there may be carpooling opportunities available to women interested in attending.
Brochures with details will be forthcoming, but I would ask that you alert the women in your church that this event is on the calendar, so that they might begin to consider their own participation.  If you have a church or women’s newsletter that could publicize the above information, that would be very helpful.
I recognize that many of our churches in the NE Presbytery are several hours away from Atonement.  If having housing available on Friday night would make a difference for interested women in your church, let me know.  I will do my best to find accommodations with a church family.
As soon as a brochure is available, I will email it to you for printing and distribution.
I pray that several of our churches will be represented as together we explore the potential in women’s ministries to better know, love, and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessings to you,
Joanne
